On thursday 2nd May i took part in raising awareness of Emily Wilding Davison's death at Epsom Derby in 1913. As part of www.100deeds.co.uk I stitched my signature into a small piece of cloth which will later be part of 100 signatures all coming together to create one large cloth which explores our responses to gender equality today. The artist behind this, Lynn setterington, got us to fill in a questionaire whilst stitching, asking questions about what we believe about gender equality and what we believe to be a 'good deed'. This piece not only challenges equality today but makes us remember what Emily Davidson sacrificed to try and get it in 1913.
