Unit X

A new exciting, inspiring project..

Having been split up into three separate groups Living It, Wearing It and Imagining It, we have each been given different project briefs all revolving round the movement from the current Manchester School of Art building to the new building. I have been placed in the group Living It being given the brief to design exciting interiors for the new school of art building which will be displayed around the city of Manchester on billboards for the public to see. Some examples of the ideas we can look at are wallpapers, notice boards, lighting, furniture, windows and partitions all to be inspired by the art school and what it represents. 

Within the group Living It we have all been split into smaller groups of 7 in which we are to work together as a team on a group blog and also on our individual blogs. This should be really helpful as we can ask each other for help and its an opportunity to meet new people. 

Along with working in new groups within Textiles in Practice, Unit X involves all art students from the school all working on the same project with different outcomes. This is also a chance to meet new people and use them as help or inspiration for my own work. It will be really interesting to see others designs and ideas, as they should all link into one big exciting project!
