A chance to look at the processes involved in the delivery of key instrastructural projects of the post-war era, The Manicunian Way, the never realised Picc-Vic tunnel, The Guardian Exchange and dreams of a city centre heliport all presented using artefacts found and recovered from various archives and museums of the region.
I found myself interested in the large scale map drawings of Manchester, where it is heavily populated, its bus routes, built up areas and main communications. This made me wonder how different these things would be if i were to do the same for Middlesbrough. I also really liked the way the maps had been drawn - using dots dashes and a variation of thickness's of lines to represent different things. I would like to look for old maps of Manchester and compare them with recent ones focusing on whether the same places are still busy now.
